# Account and profile

> Edit your name and avatar, view the organization you belong to, change your email or password, and use the danger zone to delete your Squid ID account.

Your profile lives under <strong>Settings → General</strong> in the dashboard. It holds your name and avatar, shows your sign-in email and organization, and contains the danger zone for pausing or deleting the account.

## Profile fields

    Update <strong>First name</strong> and <strong>Last name</strong>, then click <strong>Save changes</strong>. The button stays inactive until you change something.

  <Step title="Upload an avatar">
    Click <strong>Change photo</strong>, pick a JPG, PNG, or WebP under 5 MB, then <strong>Save photo</strong>. Square images work best. The image is re-encoded to a clean square PNG in your browser before upload, which strips embedded metadata. Use <strong>Remove photo</strong> to drop it.

## Danger zone

The danger zone is at the bottom of the General page.

To stop charges without deleting, turn off auto-reload and drop extra domains in Billing. See [How credits work](/billing/how-credits-work) and [Plans and domains](/billing/plans-and-domains). Your prepaid balance stays usable while you spend it down.

<Warning>Deleting the account stops matching immediately. Your data is kept for 45 days, then permanently purged. Reactivate within that window to keep it. Any prepaid balance is non-refundable and is lost when the account is purged.</Warning>

    Click <strong>Delete account</strong> and confirm. Matching stops now; a 45-day recovery window starts.

  <Step title="Reactivate within 45 days">
    While the account is scheduled for deletion, a <strong>Reactivate account</strong> button is shown. Click it any time before the 45 days elapse to keep your data.
