# Send visitors to Apollo

> Add identified Squid ID visitors to an Apollo sequence through its API, with ICP routing, requirements, and Squid ID+ data. No Zapier required.

[Apollo](https://apollo.io) is a sales-intelligence platform with built-in engagement (sequences and a dialer). Squid ID identifies the person on your site, upserts them as an Apollo contact, and enrolls them in a sequence through Apollo's API. Direct integration, no Zapier.

## If you're coming from RB2B

RB2B also syncs to Apollo (master key, pick a sequence), but it sends everyone with no targeting. Squid ID enrolls only the visitors that match your ICP, and brings the mobile number RB2B doesn't provide.

<div className="compare">
  <table>
    <thead>
      <tr><th /><th>RB2B</th><th>Squid ID</th></tr>
    </thead>

    <tbody>
      <tr><td>Connection</td><td>Native (master key)</td><td>Native (master key)</td></tr>
      <tr><td>Who's enrolled</td><td>All profiles, one sequence</td><td>All, by ICP, or by high-intent page</td></tr>
      <tr><td>Requirements</td><td>Limited</td><td>Require company, LinkedIn, or work/personal email</td></tr>
      <tr><td>Premium contact data</td><td>Not provided</td><td>Mobile phone with <a href="/add-ons/squid-id-plus">Squid ID+</a></td></tr>
    </tbody>
  </table>
</div>

<p className="why"><strong>Why this matters.</strong> Apollo runs the sequence; Squid ID makes sure only on-profile visitors enter it, and adds the mobile number Apollo's own data often misses.</p>

## Before you connect

Apollo's sequence API has two requirements (the same ones RB2B documents):

* You must use a **master API key** (a normal key is rejected). In Apollo, go to **Settings → API** and toggle **Set as master key**.
* The sequence you pick must have a **connected mailbox** (sending email account), or Apollo won't enroll contacts.

## Connect Apollo

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get a master API key">
    In Apollo, **Settings → API**, create a key and set it as a **master** key. Copy it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste it">
    In Squid ID, go to **Settings → Integrations** and click **Connect** on the Apollo card. Paste the key; Squid ID verifies it's a valid master key before saving.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a sequence and mailbox">
    Choose the Apollo sequence visitors should enter, and the sending mailbox to send from. Then set routing, requirements, and frequency, and **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What's sent

Squid ID upserts a contact (deduped on email) with `first_name`, `last_name`, `email`, `title`, `organization_name`, `website_url`, `linkedin_url`, and, when unlocked, `mobile_phone`, then enrolls that contact in your chosen sequence from your chosen mailbox.

## Pause or disconnect

* **Pause:** Use the toggle on the Apollo card to stop sending without losing the key or settings.
* **Disconnect:** Open the connector and click **Disconnect**.
