Auto-reload keeps matching from pausing. You set a threshold and a top-up amount. When your paid balance drops to or below the threshold, Squid ID charges your saved card off-session for the top-up amount and credits the paid bucket. Auto-reload watches the paid bucket only. Bonus credits are free credit and are never topped up.

Before you start

  • A card on file. Add one under Settings → Billing before enabling auto-reload.
  • A top-up amount of at least $5 (the top-up minimum).

Set it up

1

Open auto-reload

Go to the dashboard, Settings → Billing → Manage auto-reload.
2

Turn it on and set your numbers

Enable the toggle, then set “When credit balance goes below” (the threshold, watched against your paid balance) and “Add this amount” (the top-up, minimum $5).
3

Save

Save changes. If your balance is already at or below the threshold, the first charge happens immediately.
Each top-up is charged as a Stripe invoice, so you get a PDF invoice and a receipt email. The credit lands once the charge confirms.

When a charge fails

If the card is declined or needs extra authentication that cannot complete off-session, the reload fails and a card-issue banner appears in the dashboard, along with a dunning email. Fix the card under payment methods and the next charge clears the banner.
Pausing or canceling your account turns auto-reload off. Re-enable it after you reactivate.
