A billing manager is a teammate you trust to look after money on your account: add credit, keep a working card on file, set auto-reload, and download invoices. They do this on your account and your card, never their own. Everything else about your account stays owner-only. This is for the agency, finance, or operations person who keeps the balance topped up while you stay the Owner.

Make someone a billing manager

1

Invite them as an Admin

Under Settings → Team, invite the person as an Admin on at least one of your websites. Viewers cannot be billing managers. See Team members and roles.
2

Wait for them to accept

They accept the invite by email and sign in. The Billing toggle stays off until this happens.
3

Switch Billing on

Back on the Team page, switch Billing on in their row. Your Billing page shows who holds the role, with a link back to Team.
To take the role away, switch Billing off, remove them from the team, or change them to Viewer. Access ends immediately, including in tabs they have open.
Why the invite has to be accepted first: an invite goes to an email address, not a person. Until it is accepted we have no proof the address belongs to who you think it does. We never let an unaccepted address move your money.

What a billing manager can do

On your account:
  • See the balance, billing history, and the per-visitor charges ledger.
  • Add credit, including the one-click top-up on your saved card.
  • Add, remove, and set the default payment method.
  • Set auto-reload.
  • Download invoices.
Everything they do writes to your Activity log with their name on it, so you can always see who added what.

What a billing manager cannot do

  • Pause, cancel, or delete your account.
  • Claim the welcome bonus.
  • Buy add-ons: extra websites, API access, or Workflows.
  • Make anyone else a billing manager, or remove themselves.
  • Transfer ownership.
These stay with you as the Owner. If a billing manager tries one of them inside your account, it is refused outright. It never quietly runs on their own account instead.

What the billing manager sees

Their Billing page gets a Billing account control at the top. It lists their own account, if they have one, and every account they manage, with the websites each one covers. Picking yours opens your billing inside a tinted panel marked Managed, with a reminder that credit and cards added there go on your account and your card. Every confirmation names you: “Add $50 to Acme’s account?” with the card and invoice spelled out, and removing a card asks them to type your account name. Your balance updates live on their screen as matches are charged. If they pick one of your websites in the website switcher and have no billing of their own, Billing opens straight on your account.
A billing manager uses your saved card. Only give the role to someone you would hand that card to.
