Slack is set up per website, like everything else in Squid ID. Each website has its own channels, its own routing rules, and its own Slack workspace. If your account has one website, you don’t need this page: Set up Slack covers everything.

Why this matters. With several websites, you decide per website where its leads go, and a shared channel still tells you which website each visitor was on.

How websites and workspaces fit together

  • Slack settings follow the website picker. The Slack page shows the website selected at the top of the app. Switch websites to see or change another website’s setup.
  • Each website posts to one Slack workspace. The bar at the top of the Slack page says which, for example acme.com posts to Acme.
  • A new website starts with no Slack. Nothing is sent until you choose a workspace and add a channel, so a new website can never post into the wrong Slack by accident.
  • Changing one website never changes another. Connecting, switching, or disconnecting Slack on one website leaves your other websites exactly as they were.
  • Channels stay where you set them up. A channel keeps posting into the workspace it was created in, even if you later change the website’s workspace. When you use more than one workspace, each channel card shows which one, for example in Acme.
  • A channel belongs to one website. It posts that website’s leads and uses that website’s ICPs and high-intent pages. To send another website’s leads to the same Slack channel, add the channel on that website too.

Set up Slack for a new website

1

Select the new website

Pick it at the top of the app and open Settings → Integrations → Slack.
2

Choose a workspace

Pick Use next to a workspace you already connected, or Sign in to a different Slack for a separate workspace.
3

Add a channel

Click Add channel and pick where this website’s leads go. See Add a channel.

One channel for several websites

To get every website’s leads in one place, add the same Slack channel on each website.
1

Set up the first website

Add the channel as usual, for example #leads.
2

Switch to the next website

Pick the next website at the top of the app and open Settings → Integrations → Slack.
3

Add the same channel

Click Add channel. Channels your other websites already post to are listed first, marked Gets leads from the other website. Pick it and click Add.
Every alert starts with a Site line, so a shared channel always shows which website the visitor was on. Each website keeps its own routing rule on the shared channel, so one website can send every visitor while another sends only ICP matches.
Both websites must post to the same Slack workspace to share a channel. If a website uses a different workspace, its picker lists that workspace’s channels instead.

Change a website’s workspace

Use this when a website should post somewhere else from now on, for example after moving to a new Slack.
1

Open Change workspace

On the website’s Slack page, click Change workspace.
2

Pick or sign in

Pick a workspace you’ve already connected, or sign in to a different one.
3

Re-add channels in the new workspace

New channels use the new workspace. Existing channels keep posting into the old workspace until you remove them, so nothing goes quiet while you set up the new ones.
If the old workspace is gone (for example, Squid ID was removed from it), its channels will fail and be muted. Remove them once the new channels are in place.

Disconnect Slack for one website

Click Disconnect on the website’s Slack page and confirm. That website’s channels stop posting (they’re marked Not posting), and your other websites are not affected. Reconnect anytime with Connect Slack, and the channels pick up where they left off. To stop alerts for a while without disconnecting, switch off a channel’s toggle instead.
