Most Slack issues come down to which website a channel belongs to, the website’s workspace, or a channel’s rule. The Slack page shows each of these directly, so start there.

If you’re coming from RB2B

RB2BSquid ID
Delivery statusNot surfacedEach channel shows when it last posted and the last error
Broken destinationNot surfacedMuted automatically, with the reason, and resumes when fixed

Why this matters. You can tell from the Slack page whether alerts are flowing and why one isn’t, without waiting to notice silence.

The test works but leads don’t arrive

A test message proves Squid ID can post to the channel. Leads also depend on the website and the channel’s rule. Check:
  • You’re on the right website. Channels belong to one website. A channel set up while another website was selected gets that website’s leads, not this one’s. Pick the website at the top of the app and confirm the channel is listed on its Slack page.
  • The channel’s rule. A channel limited to an ICP or high-intent pages only posts visitors that match.
  • The Activity line. It shows when the channel last posted. No leads posted in the last 3 days with a working test usually means no matching visitors, or the website is paused.
  • The website is active. A website paused for a low balance identifies no new visitors, so there’s nothing to post. The website owner adds credit to resume.

A channel says Not posting

The card says why:
  • Slack is disconnected for this site. Click Connect Slack on the website’s Slack page.
  • The workspace is no longer connected. Squid ID was removed from that Slack workspace. Reconnect it, or remove the channel and add one in a connected workspace.
  • Turned off by the owner. The website owner stopped this channel. Only the owner can allow it again. See Stop someone else’s channel.

A channel is muted

If a webhook breaks or a channel is deleted, Squid ID mutes that channel after several failed sends (for ten minutes) so it doesn’t block other channels or repeatedly retry Slack. The muted channel shows a warning with the last error, and resumes automatically once the destination is fixed.

Leads land in a channel I didn’t expect

  • A shared channel. If several websites post to one channel, the Site line on each alert says which website the visitor was on.
  • Someone else’s channel. Website owners and admins can each set up their own channels. The website owner sees all of them under Also posting this site’s leads. See Owners and admins each get their own alerts.

I can’t add a channel

  • “That channel already gets this site’s leads.” The same Slack channel can only be added once per website, by anyone, so leads never post twice.
  • “Connect Slack for this site first.” Choose a workspace for the website before adding a channel. See Set up Slack for a new website.
